Road Goes On Forever Records proudly presents a new release by what is undoubtedly a class act, The Ashley Hutchings All Stars, with their live version of the neglected classic, 'By Gloucester Docks I Sat Down & Wept'.

The original studio version of this album was released in 1987, but has been unavailable for many years, which makes the release of this live version, recorded in 1988, but previously available only on cassette, even more timely.

With three previously unreleased bonus tracks, the 18 track album lasts over 50 minutes, and features a genuinely all-star line up of Polly Bolton (lead vocals), Clive Gregson (vocals, guitars), John Shepherd (keyboards), Pete Zorn (vocals, saxophones, whistle, acoustic guitar), Ashley Hutchings (lead vocals, bass guitar) and Dave Mattacks (drums). Among the notable bands of which these musicians are or have been members are Fairport Convention, Steeleye Span, The Albion Band, Any Trouble, Richard Thompson Band, Dando Shaft, etc. When the studio version of this album was released on the shortlived Paradise & Thorns label over a decade ago, it was widely praised by critics and punters alike. Its appeal has not lessened in the intervening years, as will be quite obvious !

Yet another fine album from RGF, Britain's foremost folk/rock factory.
